ABOUT IIOC
The Islamic Institute of Orange County (IIOC) is a nonprofit organization 501(c)(3) mosque and institution established in 1991 to serve the greater Orange County community as a source of Islamic knowledge, spirituality, social gatherings, and communal support.

IIOC primarily provides prayer services, weekly Friday khutbah prayers, community programming and events, and a full-time Pre-K to 8th grade Islamic School, Minaret Academy.

Our vision is to inspire the future through the values of the Prophetic past.

MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to be the minaret for Muslims in fostering Islamic values by providing religious, educational, and social services for the betterment of humanity.

Dr. Sana Khan

Board Member | Vice President

Dr. Sana Khan is an accomplished radiologist, researcher, teacher, and entrepreneur.  He attended medical school at UCLA and graduated as a Dean's Scholar with M.D. and Ph.D. degrees in Anatomy and Clinical Neurophysiology. He was the first radiologist in the U.S. with the Stand-Up Weight-Bearing MRI and has contributed significantly to the advancement of this technology.  He is a nationally renowned scientist conducting on-going research with the Departments of Orthopedic Surgery at UCLA, USC, City of Hope Cancer Hospital, UC San Diego, and the US Department of Defense. Having published and contributed to over a hundred research papers, Dr. Khan is a prolific lecturer at conferences nationally and internationally. Dr. Khan currently serves as the Vice President of IIOC and on the Board of Uplift Charity. He also recently finished his term as the President of UCLA's Academy for Judaic, Christian, and Islamic Studies 2017-2019. Dr. Khan resides in Orange County with his wife Safura and four children.

Imtiaz Mohammady

Board Member

Imtiaz Mohammady is the CEO of Nisum, a global digital transformation company. For over 20 years, Imtiaz has been a noteworthy leader in the tech space and has grown Nisum to 10 offices across six countries. Imtiaz earned a Bachelor of Science from UCLA in Computer Science and Engineering and earned a Master of Science from USC in Computer Science. Prior to Nisum he worked for many top tech companies like AT&T, Oracle, and eToys. He is not only a leader and innovator in the tech field but has a passion for philanthropy and is a pillar of our community and many communities across Southern California. He has been involved with and served on various boards of non-profit organizations such as IOK, Uplift, and others. Imtiaz has been supporting and attending IIOC for over 25 years and has been on the Board of Trustees for Minaret Academy since its inception. His other passions, besides work and philanthropy, are football, gardening, and spending time with his family. Imtiaz lives in Fullerton with his wife and two sons.
